Global Hemp Innovation Center Strategic Plans 2025-2030

The Oregon State University (OSU) Global Hemp Innovation Center (GHIC) has published its Strategic Plan for 2025-2030, providing a comprehensive overview of the Center's vision and objectives to guide hemp regulation, research, and overall industry development. The Strategic Plan highlights key priorities for research, market growth, and regulatory advancements within the hemp industry.

GHIC's Vision 2030:

The Global Hemp Innovation Center is a leader in innovation and disseminating knowledge about hemp and how this new crop fits into agricultural production, business, natural, and social landscapes in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

To do this, the Global Hemp Innovation Center:

• Conducts cutting-edge research to drive innovation.

• Champions whole-plant, zero-waste utilization of the hemp crop.

• Identifies and develops the most valuable uses and markets for hemp.

• Fosters supply chain development through vertical integration of all needed partners.

• Helps build strong, collaborative relationships among affiliated faculty, students, other universities, state and federal agencies with industry and other stakeholders.

• Engages meaningfully with rural communities and underrepresented groups, fulfilling our land-grant university mission through a commitment to inclusivity and exemplary outreach.
