Help Shape the Future of Oregon’s Land Use Planning
The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) and the Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC) are currently recruiting a volunteer to join the Community Involvement Advisory Committee (CIAC).
This is an opportunity to strengthen equitable community engagement across Oregon's land use planning systems. The CIAC is a permanent advisory body established under ORS 197.160 and plays a key role in supporting Statewide Planning Goal 1—Citizen Involvement.
Now Recruiting: Representative for Congressional District 5
DLCD is seeking one new CIAC member to represent Oregonians in Congressional District 5, which includes parts of Multnomah, Marion, and Jefferson counties, most of Clackamas and Linn counties, and the northwest portion of Deschutes County.
🔔 Application Deadline: May 19, 2025, by 12:00 PM (PT)About the CIAC:
Advises DLCD and LCDC on community engagement practices.
Meets approximately four times yearly (one in-person optional, others virtual).
Composed of ten members statewide, one from each congressional district and four at-large.
Develops annual workplans to support agency goals, including new tools and engagement strategies.
Participates in advisory committees on critical issues like housing, solar siting, farm/forest policies, and tribal cultural areas.
No prior experience in land use law or policy required! Just a commitment to community involvement.
